Backups and restore

stub
This page hasn’t been written yet.

It exists so links and search lead somewhere. Below is what it will cover, and where the answer lives until then.

It waits on a backup and restore procedure tried from end to end.

  • What to back up
  • A scheduled dump
  • Restoring onto a new host
  • Runs that were in flight
  • Runners after a restore
  • Checking that a backup restores
  • Pitwall’s state is its PostgreSQL database. Attached files are in it too: they are stored as rows.
  • The mirror directory is a cache. It can be deleted.
  • A runner keeps its registration, tokens and paused jobs under ~/.config/pitwall-runner/.

If you know this part of Pitwall, your notes are the best starting point.
